Why do you play hockey?
I started playing when I was a little kid and fell in love with the game. I love the competition, the dedication, the brotherhood of a team. Every aspect of it is addictive.

Why is the 2012-2013 season going to be a good year for Franklin High School?
Even though we lost huge pieces to our team from last year, we gained invaluable experience from making it to the Garden last season. Losing there will drive us to work even harder to accomplish our goal and we have plenty of sophomores ready to step in and play a big role this year.

What is your favorite Franklin hockey memory so far?
Both games at the Garden have been my most cherished memory of Franklin Hockey,, but they’ve also been my worst. I’ll never forget the bonds with my teammates over the past seasons and these memories will motivate me to accomplish what we have come up short on these past two seasons.

What were your emotions when you played your first varsity game?
My first varsity game was my freshman year vs. Foxboro and I had never been so nervous for a hockey game in my life. It felt like the fastest paced game I had experienced at first, but once I calmed down and focused things got easier from there on.

What makes playing for Franklin High School so special?
The fans, the history of success, the feeling of putting on that jersey, nothing compares to Franklin hockey in the Hock. Every team wants to beat us, which makes us have to play our best game every game. There is nothing like the competition inside the Hock, and it helps to have the best fans in the league behind you at every game, home or away.

When you are not practicing what are you usually doing?
I spend a lot of my off time doing schoolwork or sleeping. Naps make it possible to get through the everyday grind of the season.

What are your top 3 pregame pump up songs?
1) Blow Me Away – Breaking Benjamin
2) ‘Till I Collapse – Eminem
3) Ladies and Gentleman – Saliva

As a Democrat and a perspective Secretary of Defense, I believe D-Fense is what wins hockey games, and Franklin Hockey seems to be doing just that. Keep up the persistence and finish the season strong.
