Why do you play volleyball?

Originally, I began playing volleyball in fourth grade because my older sister started playing at the high school. I thought it would just be something fun to do, but I fell in love with the sport. Volleyball is so fast paced that you can never get bored. I love the rush you get from diving on the floor, winning a long rally, and pushing through to win that last fifteen point set. I love being a part of a team, and volleyball is truly a team sport. You have to depend on and trust your teammates in order to be successful. Volleyball gives you such a strong bond with your team, and I love the family I have during the season.

Why is 2012-2013 going to be a good year for Franklin High School?

I think the Franklin High Volleyball team is the closest team I have ever been on. We all really want each other to succeed and do well. We have a very strong team bond; we are like a family. Some of us have been playing together since fifth grade. We all trust each other and we are more than just teammates. We have a lot of talent on our team, so I think we will have a strong and fun season. I am proud to spend my last season with these girls. Everyone is a talented volleyball player and a fantastic person.

What is your favorite Franklin Volleyball memory so far?

My favorite memory is definitely when we won the Hock last year. We had worked hard all season and we really were a family. We only lost one game all season, and it was to Canton. We came back from that loss and beat them to win the Hock.

What were your emotions when you played your first varsity game?

As a freshman, I played my first varsity game. I was so nervous during warm-ups, so I set up against the wall as many times as I could to get out my nervous energy. Once I stepped on the court the nerves were gone, and I knew I had my teammates to support me no matter what happened.

What makes playing for Franklin High School so special?

Franklin High is a very community oriented and spirited place. The volleyball team goes to the soccer games and the football games, while those teams do the same for us. We also have some really dedicated fans that come to all of our games, whether they are home or away. Franklin High always rallies behind its teams, especially when it comes to tournament time. I think the sense of a sports community is very unique to Franklin.

When you are not practicing what are you usually doing?

The fall is really busy, so if it is a weekday I'm usually doing homework or at a pasta party with the team. On the weekends, I hang out with my friends at the football games, at someone's house, or at a restaurant. We like to go to the movies, play mini golf, and go bowling. During the club season, it is volleyball and school work all the time.

What are your top 3 pregame pump up songs?

My top pregame songs always change, but right now it is:
1. Remember the Name-Fort Minor
2. 'Till I Collapse-Eminem
3. Phunkshock-Matroda
