Why do you play soccer?
One of, if not the main reason I play soccer is because growing up in Canton every kid goes to Canton Soccer School for a week in the summer. The camp runs one week every summer and that's where I started playing when I was 5. After that I kept playing because I loved the game and me and all my friends and me used to ball boy the High school games.
Why is 2012-2013 going to be a good year for Canton High School?
It's no secret we lost some key guys over the past two years but a lot of our core guys are still here and we have a lot of new faces on the team which creates a good balance of new players and older guys to show them the ropes so it should be an exciting year for everyone involved.
What is your favorite Canton soccer memory so far?
My favorite Canton soccer moment so far would have to be my sophomore year when we beat Sandwich for the South Sectional Championship in penalties. It was the first time our program won the South Section and it was in penalties which makes it even better.
What were your emotions when you played your first varsity game?
I wasn't too nervous by the time our first game came around because we played 3 scrimmages earlier in the pre season. It was probably my first night game that I really got nervous playing under the lights in front of all my friends.
What makes playing for Canton High School so special?
The tradition is probably what makes playing for Canton High School so special, over the last six years we have been Hock champs five times, being here since my freshman year I've seen a bunch of great players come through the team and it's just special knowing your playing in such a great soccer program.
When you’re not practicing, what are you usually doing?
Usually hanging out with friends, team dinners and lots of Fox Soccer Report to catch up on the EPL games from the weekends and the Champions League during the week.
