Why do you play the sport of volleyball?
I had never played volleyball before 8th grade and I like to challenge myself with sports. The more I started playing, the more I started to love the game.
Why is 2012-2013 going to be a good year for Stoughton High School?
After our first tournament berth last year, high hopes are in the future for Stoughton volleyball. We only got a small taste of how it feels to be in tournament so I know all of the returning girls want to be right back there this year.
What is your favorite Stoughton volleyball memory so far?
There have been so many different memories playing varsity volleyball. The one that stands out the most is last year’s breast cancer game against Sharon. Not only was a lot of the town there to support us, but winning that game ensured a spot in tournament for the team.
What were your emotions when you played your first varsity game?
Playing in my first varsity game was extremely scary! I was the only freshman on the team and was trying to remember a million things at once. I just remember all of my teammates being really supportive and encouraging me to keep going. Now, being a senior, I try to practice the same things and keep my team filled with confidence.
What makes playing for Stoughton High School so special?
The greatest thing about playing for Stoughton High School is the passion that Coach Gay brings to every game and practice. He inspires all of us to reach our potential.
When you’re not practicing, what are you usually doing?
When I am not practicing volleyball I am usually playing another one of my three sports. I also spend a lot of time on my school work and student council. An important part of our volleyball team is to maintain good chemistry off the court so during the season we do a lot of team bonding.
What are your top 3 pregame pump up songs?
I do not have three top songs but pump up music for me is country.
