Why do you play the sport of soccer?

I've played soccer since I was 5 years old, and it has always been my favorite sport. I enjoy the competition and being apart of a team. Playing soccer has taught me that with hard work comes success.

Why is 2012-2013 going to be a good year for Oliver Ames High School?

2012-2013 is going to be a good year for OA because we are coming back from a great season last year. Although we lost a lot of amazing players, we have not lost our chemistry and have a lot of strong, returning players coming back to play for us. I don't know any other team that works as hard as we do.

What is your favorite OA soccer memory so far?

My favorite OA soccer memory is beating Bishop Feehan in the South Sectional semi-finals and Whitman Hanson in the South Sectional Finals last season. Our team worked so hard to win those games, and it felt great to get revenge on Feehan after losing to them the year before. After winning the South Sectional final, we got a police escort home and everyone cheered out the windows the entire ride, it was the best feeling.

What were your emotions when you played your first varsity game?

Playing my first varsity game I was really nervous. I was a sophomore, and I was so worried about making a mistake that it was hard to focus, but as soon as the whistle blew the nerves went away and I was ready to step up and play my game.

What makes playing for Oliver Ames High School so special?

My teammates. I don't know any other team that is closer than our team, all of us are best friends. On and off the field age doesn't matter to us, we all treat each other equally and are close with everyone on the team. During soccer season we are absolutely inseparable! When we are not practicing or playing, we are always together. Before games we all have handshakes we have to do during warm-ups, little things like that pump us up. Being so close definitely helps our game, we all know each other so well and our chemistry is incredible. If someone makes a mistake, we instantly pick each other up. Everyone on the field and on the bench cheers for each other, it's awesome.

When you're not practicing, what are usually doing?

When I'm not practicing, I'm usually hanging out with my friends, doing school work, or shopping. I also play basketball and dance, so I am always active and busy. During soccer season if I'm not at practice, it's guaranteed I am hanging out with my teammates!

What are your top 3 pregame pump up songs?

My top 3 pregrame pump up songs are the 300 Violin Orchestra remix by Eminem, Heart of a Champion, and I'mma Shine.. they are all on our warm-up CD and get me focused and ready to play.
